What is MyVENT and what does it do?

MyVENT is a smart telemedicine platform powered by the Lleida Biomedical Research Institute (IRB Lleida), Eurecat and OXIGEN to support all those involved in home-based mechanical ventilation treatments and to place the patient as the protagonist of the therapy.

It is available in web (www.myvent.net) and mobile Android version, for both patients and medical staff.

The information collected through MyVENT serves to develop comprehensive and personalized actions that improve the treatment of patients and reduce their cost.

Functionalities and objectives

The main functionalities of this platform are:

Telemonitorize the mechanical ventilation of the patient to know the daily hours of use, leaks and apneas.
Tracking charts for the last 7, 14 and 28 days.
Personal challenges in improving treatment.
User manual and FAQ section.
Online questionnaires.
Profile for medical users and patients.
Alert screen for medical personnel.
Patient finder for medical staff.
Treatment tracking widget.

All of them are intended to achieve the following objectives:

Improve adaptation to mechanical ventilation with home monitoring. The ability to send treatment information and change parameters remotely in authorized cases, when necessary, allows therapy to be adapted with personalized treatment.
Reduce the number of visits to hospitals in order to optimize health resources and facilitate continuity of care for patients with mobility difficulties. Patient empowerment in therapy follow-up through MyVENT improves adherence and utilization of equipment and reduces the number of visits and consultations.
Early detection of problems with ventilation to improve therapeutic adherence and therapy effectiveness. The remote connection to VMD equipment allows real-time reporting of ventilation anomalies to the professional. In this way, the parameters necessary for a better use of the equipment can be modified.
Develop a VMD use and adherence tracking system that sends feedback to both patients and clinical staff. The ventilation machine and wearables will send the data to a central unit that will process it and provide it via the web to professionals and through the app installed in the mobile of the patients themselves.
The system allows you to set up alerts for professionals to create patient groups and track more effectively the groups that need the most attention.
