Heliotherapy

Heliotheraphy involves inhaling a mixture of helium and oxygen, and especially useful in diseases that narrow the airways, such as:

• Croup.

The lower density of helium compared to conventional air (a mixture of nitrogen, oxygen, and argon) facilitates the passage of the gas through narrowed airways, reducing resistance to airflow and relieving shortness of breath.
