In compliance with the provisions of the Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (ECISSA), it is mandatory to obtain the user's express consent when the website uses dispensable cookies, before the user browses it.

Consequently, below we explain what cookies are, what they are used for, and how you can configure or disable them if you wish. We also inform you of the types of cookies used and their purpose.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your browser when you visit certain websites. Its function is to retrieve information about its visitors. Cookies usually store information of a technical nature, personal preferences, personalisation of content, usage statistics, links to social networks, access to user accounts, etc. The purpose of the cookie is to adapt the content of the website to your profile and needs. Without cookies, the services offered by any website would be significantly reduced.

What types of cookies are there?

1. Depending on the entity managing them

Depending on the entity that manages the equipment or domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, we can distinguish:

  • Own cookies: these are those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: these are cookies that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

2. According to their purpose

The data obtained through cookies may be processed for some of the following purposes:

  • Technical cookies: are those that allow the user to browse through a website, platform or application and to use the different options or services that exist on it. They include those that the editor uses to allow the management and operation of the website and to enable its functions and services, for example, to control traffic and data communication, identify the session, access restricted areas, remember the elements that make up an order, carry out the purchase process of an order, manage payment, make the application for registration or participation in an event, store content for the broadcasting of videos or sound, enable dynamic content or share content through social networks.
Technical cookies are exempt from compliance with the obligations established in article 22.2 of the ECISSA, so it is not necessary to request your consent for their use, as this is implicit in the service provided through this website.
  • Analysis or measurement cookies: these are cookies that allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked, including the quantification of the impact of advertisements. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of the website, application or platform, in order to make improvements based on the analysis of the data on the use made by users of the service.
Measurement analysis cookies are exempt from compliance with the obligations established in article 22.2 of the ECISSA, so it is not necessary to request your consent for their use, when they are used solely to produce anonymous statistical data.
  • Preference or personalisation cookies: these are cookies that allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain characteristics that can differentiate their experience from that of other users, for example, the language, the number of results to be shown when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which they access the service, etc.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: these are cookies that store information on user behaviour obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the content of advertising to be adapted so that it is relevant to the user and to avoid showing adverts that the user has already seen.

3. Depending on the length of time they remain activated

Depending on the length of time they remain activated in the terminal equipment, we can distinguish:

  • Session cookies: these are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are usually used to store information that is only relevant for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion, e.g. a list of products purchased, and therefore disappear at the end of the session.
  • Persistent cookies: these are cookies in which the data remain stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
