Spirometry

What is spirometry?

A simple test to assess lung functions by measuring and monitoring air inhalation. The test is used to assess lung capacity throughout the patient's life and monitor if it diminishes. It is also used to diagnose conditions such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and asthma.

The medical assistance staff of OXIGEN salud carries out this diagnostic test at home. The patient must breathe through a mouthpiece connected to a spirometer that measures the quantity of exhaled air and the frequency and speed of exhalation.
