Nebuliser:
instructions and recommendations

Instructions

Place the compressor on a flat, stable surface.

Wash your hands before you begin.

Add the medication dose prescribed by your doctor to the nebuliser cup. To do so, use a dropper or a measuring cup. Add the recommended amount of saline or distilled water.

Close the top part of the nebuliser (the cup), keeping it upright at all times, and adjust the mouthpiece or mask.

Attach the tubing to the nebuliser to start the nebulising process.

Sit up straight and put the mouthpiece in your mouth or the mask over your face.

Breathe normally and calmly until the nebuliser starts to work.

Make sure your reaction to the medication is as expected and observe whether or not any side effects appear (trembling, tachycardia, etc.).

After each session, wash the components of the nebuliser with warm water and soap, then rinse them. Once dry, store the device in a cool, dry place.

Rinsing with distilled water after each wash is advised to prevent limescale from accumulating on the device’s accessories.

Sterilising the device’s accessories in boiling water for 15 minutes is recommended once a week.

Nebulising saline or distilled water is recommended after each use of the aerosol to remove any remaining medicine from inside the nebuliser.

After each session, clean and rinse the mouth. Oral hygiene should be maximised with toothpaste or antiseptic mouthwash.

Keep the face clean and dry to avoid any skin irritation. Make sure no pressure points or sores appear if using a mask.
